West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has set off today for an 11-day visit to Spain and Dubai. After staying overnight in Dubai, she is scheduled to head to Madrid, the capital of Spain, on Wednesday, where she will participate in a three-day business summit. Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will also join her in Madrid.
Following this, Mamata will meet non-resident Bengalis in Spain.
In Barcelona, two days after the business summit, Mamata will participate in the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS). This foreign tour by Mamata is aimed at attracting investments to the state.
She is accompanied by senior officials from the Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, and Mohammedan Sporting football clubs as well as Chief Secretary of West Bengal H.K. Dwivedi.
